2021 Gauge Report Reveals how GovCons Are Pivoting Amid Pandemic

by Kim KosterPress Releases, Unanet News

Sep 22, 2021

Increased competition and cybersecurity top of mind while remote work still rules Dulles, VA, Sept. 22, 2021 – Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, government contractors (GovCons) are optimistic about their future business prospects, according to Unanet and CohnReznick LLP, the joint authors of the fifth annual 2021 Gauge Report. Drawing its findings from a survey of more than 1,400 GovCon representatives from January – May, the Gauge Report highlights the pressures this market is facing, including cyber threats, hybrid work and supply chain disruptions, as well as solutions they are investing in and exploring that are helping to address those issues. “Among the biggest insights from the Gauge Report are how the pandemic’s fall-out has shifted the marketplace,” said Kim Koster, vice president of GovCon strategy for Unanet. “In 2020, the political environment, budgets and talent recruitment ruled, but this year competition was the number one issue causing sleepless nights for executives and managers. Compliance costs also ranked high among GovCon concerns.” GovCons reported their top concern is increased competition, and with a vast increase in government spending, they are actively pursuing new awards. Because GovCons prepare an average of 62 proposals each year, particular attention is being paid to streamlining proposal management to meet tight deadlines, improving communications among proposal preparers and contracting officers, and clarifying proposal scope. More than 70 percent of respondents identified these challenges to delivering winning proposals, so GovCons are increasingly looking at technology tools to help automate and manage these. Cybersecurity is once again on the list of industry concerns, because the federal government relies on GovCons to protect IT environments from hackers and therefore requires Cyber Maturity Model Certification (CMMC). Thirty percent of Gauge respondents indicated they have struggled with CMMC compliance, yet 70 percent plan to achieve Level 3 compliance. Maintaining, monitoring and managing compliance is an ever-changing reality for these GovCons. “The Gauge Report is one of the most useful tools the industry has for understanding what challenges GovCons are facing, and with this knowledge we can work to develop solutions,” said Christine Williamson, CPA, PMP Partner, CohnReznick. “Intelligent technology, effective project management, communication and collaboration have consistently proven to be solutions for this dynamic, ever-changing marketplace.” To download the 2021 Gauge Report, please visit https://hubs.ly/H0WS2QH0. National Design and Engineering Firm ISG Implements Unanet ERP in Just 120 Days Generating Significant Cash Flow and Efficiency Gains

by Lucas HaydenUnanet A/E News, Unanet News

Sep 13, 2021

Firm replaced growth-limiting legacy system for better service, user interface and analysis Dulles, VA, September 13, 2021 – ISG, a nationally recognized multi-disciplinary design and engineering firm, selected Unanet ERP AE to replace its outdated legacy system. Within a few short months, ISG implemented Unanet’s industry-leading ERP across its 11 offices and began reaping the timesaving benefits from new processes, improved cash flow, and real-time insights into its growing firm. ISG’s selection further solidifies Unanet’s increasing appeal and success at replacing status quo legacy systems that have failed to keep up with changing customer needs. In the years leading up to ISG’s move to Unanet AE, the human resources, accounting and project teams at ISG had lived with an inefficient, opaque and ill-fitting legacy ERP system. As the firm grew, the teams became increasingly frustrated with the system as well as the lack of support received from the big-name company behind it. “As our firm grew, we knew we needed to provide more visibility for team leads on overall project performance. We were also looking for ways to complete relatively basic, but time-consuming administrative tasks, such as timesheet reviews and employee onboarding, more efficiently. We also wanted access to live data from our ERP system to manage our business in real-time,” explained Alec Pfeffer, Director of Finance and Accounting at ISG. After a thorough search, ISG selected Unanet AE, which was purpose-built for architecture and engineering firms. Unanet also appealed to ISG for its malleability and scalability, an important consideration for a firm that has been growing through acquisitions and organic expansion of its customer base. Unanet’s ability to meet ISG’s aggressive 120-day implementation schedule was also critical to the move. “We had a hard deadline and the Unanet team delivered on their promise,” added Pfeffer. In the months following the move to Unanet AE, ISG has noted several improvements to its business including: Streamlining 700+ monthly invoices, leading to more consistent and predictable revenue streams and significant increase to cash flow. Using Unanet Connect for Payroll, ISG gained valuable time savings on payroll processing and employee management, allowing the fast-paced company to add to its frontline staff and grow revenue without adding extra overhead costs and personnel within the HR department. Most importantly, ISG gained insights for making better decisions faster due to real-time information being visible across the entire firm. “Because of Unanet AE’s innovative platform, we’re running faster while remaining lean,” said Pfeffer. “We’re increasing revenues and providing a better client experience without adding back-office headcount.” “ISG is a leader in its field and has established itself as one of the nation’s best firms in part due to the strong relationships and care it provides its customers,” said Matt Pantana, SVP of Product for Unanet AE. “Unanet AE’s mission runs in parallel with ISG because we focus first on customer needs and support, then innovate solutions that work. We look forward to a long partnership with ISG.” Unanet AE is a purpose-built ERP for architecture and engineering firms and offers a powerful combination of project management, business intelligence, time and expense tracking, financial, integrations, and prospect management tools in one single source. Unanet has consistently been the ERP solution firms are turning to after experiencing disappointing results with legacy systems that fail to innovate to accompany customers’ needs. Craig Halliday in Enterprise Times: “A conversation with Unanet”

by Carrie MahonUnanet News

Aug 19, 2021

Enterprise Times sat down with Unanet CEO Craig Halliday to talk about the facts, figures, and future of Unanet, and of course, no interview would be complete without a good business book recommendation. Can you tell me a bit about Unanet? “We’re running pretty well. We have over 3,100 customers. We’ve added over 500 customers in the last year. In the last couple of years, we’ve bought two companies and integrated them fully. We’re 330 employees, we have three offices in the US, and we’re growing at roughly 30% per annum. We’re feeling pretty good about where we’re at.” What have you achieved this year? “This last year, 500 plus new customers is the main achievement. Plus, we’ve purchased, integrated, and offered a CRM solution for all our AEC customers. We’ve also just launched GovCon CRM at our champions conference last week.” Unanet recently added CRM to its product portfolio, is there another application that Unanet is looking to add after CRM? “There are various things that we’re looking at. We have a fairly broad set of companies that we look at and a fairly defined process that we go through in looking at them. We will look to continue to add things that our customers want.” Unanet has focused mainly on the US market with both GovCon and AEC. What are the ambitions outside of North America? Halliday revealed that it is looking to push AEC, though he also said that some GovCon related things outside of the US are interesting. Visit Enterprise Times to read Craig’s full thoughts on joining Unanet, partnerships, customers, Unanet’s future, and more.

Unanet Signs New ERP Agreement with GovCon Leader, MPF Federal

by Kim KosterUnanet News

Jun 28, 2021

Dulles, VA, June 28, 2021 – Unanet, the leading SaaS project-based Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) provider, today announced it has signed a new ERP agreement with MPF Federal, a government contractor (GovCon) supporting a wide range of agencies including the Department of Defense, U.S. Food and Drug Administration and many others. By implementing Unanet’s project-based ERP, MPF Federal will have one complete system to manage projects, billing, forecasting, expenses and additional business functions. A woman-owned, SBA Hub Zone company, MPF Federal began less than a decade ago to support government agencies with training and technical services, research, life science support, program management, IT and other systems management. In its earliest stage, MPF Federal was able to manage its own internal systems through off-the-shelf software designed for small businesses. However, as the company experienced significant growth, it became clear small business software wouldn’t suffice. “We couldn’t gather insight into profitability, job cost and other KPIs, and our system was limited in handling other critical business needs, so we searched for a comprehensive ERP solution that was purpose-built for the government contracting industry,” said Kim Franklin, controller for MPF Federal. “Unanet came highly recommended for its ease-of-use and excellent customer service. We think Unanet will be a game-changer for our business.” When MPF Federal rolls out the Unanet ERP system to its employee base this summer, it will have new efficiency, controls, billing integrity and accuracy among all of its business functions. Project managers will have real-time data to analyze projects, and the executive team will be able to forecast and model budgets, P&L and staffing needs. “MPF Federal has proven itself to be an invaluable support to dozens of government agencies, but like many other expanding, successful businesses, it quickly grew out of off-the-shelf software,” said Kim Koster, vice president of GovCon product marketing for Unanet. “They took the time to consider what their needs were, and what they wanted their ERP system to do, and we took to the time to listen. We’re thrilled MPF Federal chose to implement Unanet, and we look forward to watching them grow and succeed further.” Unanet’s ERP allows GovCons to control complexity and compliance with one streamlined platform. It has consistently been touted by industry analyst groups and business leaders as the best project-based ERP. Most recently, Unanet ERP was named the Gold-level winner in the American Business Awards for ERP solutions. Firm expects Unanet’s ERP to improve month-end reporting, provide project insights DULLES, VA, June 7, 2021 — Unanet, the leading SaaS project-based Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) provider, today announced that Sierra7, a premier healthcare services and IT consulting firm that works with a variety of major federal and state government agencies including the Department of Veteran’s Affairs, has gone live with Unanet’s ERP solution. With Unanet, Sierra7 will operate more efficiently and have greater insights into project management. Sierra7 will realize immediate benefits in its monthly financial management, which has traditionally been a time-consuming and manual process. Additionally, Sierra7 will now have real-time data on their projects, providing key insights to project position, time-to-completion, revenue, and resources. “We were impressed with Unanet right off the bat. Their sales team brought in subject matter experts to have the right conversations with us at the right time. Unanet’s implementation process is incredibly flexible, and the team was dedicated to listening to and understanding our unique needs,” said Frank Rendon, chief financial officer, Sierra7. “When we were assessing ERP solutions, support was a key part of our grading criteria, and Unanet’s superior support offerings exceeded those expectations. Unanet’s next-level functionality, product roadmap, training options through Unanet University and support are all why we chose the Unanet solution.” Before Unanet, Sierra7 managed their business management processes in systems such as Sage and QuickBooks. Unanet A/E Wins ERP Agreement with True North Solutions and Helps Them Replace Outdated Technology

by Lucas HaydenUnanet A/E News, Unanet News

May 25, 2021

Growing international engineering firm moves to purpose-built platform with real-time reporting and multi-currency capabilities Dulles, VA, May 25, 2021 – Unanet A/E, the leading SaaS project-based Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) provider purpose-built for the architecture and engineering (A/E) industries, today announced it has signed a new agreement with True North Solutions, a growing engineering control system design firm with offices in the U.S. and Canada. Unanet A/E will replace True North’s disparate business management systems with one simple-to-use platform that provides a single source of business information with real-time, interactive insights for data-driven business decisions. True North will be replacing a variety of basic systems including QuickBooks, Tenrox and homegrown spreadsheets which the company had used to manage its business at the earliest stages. As the company grew, it needed to upgrade to a more comprehensive ERP system that could provide actionable insights, business intelligence, improved reporting and better visibility into project health, resource management and more. After reviewing a variety of industry-leading ERP options, it selected Unanet A/E for its ease-of-use, service-oriented team, intuitive reporting and analytic capabilities, and overall transparency. Because True North operates internationally, Unanet A/E’s built-in multi-currency and multi-company capabilities will enable it to manage its growing business across borders with simple and seamless accounting and invoicing. “As our firm expands, it has quickly become clear we needed improved reporting, project visibility, resource planning and management that simply wasn’t possible with the basic technology tools we currently have implemented,” said Blair Hanel, President, True North Solutions. “Unanet A/E will give us reports and dashboards with real-time information so we can easily and quickly track project updates and make decisions based on up-to-date information. And most importantly, as we continue to grow domestically and internationally, we know Unanet A/E will scale and expand with us.” True North offers its clients expanded services in cybersecurity, IoT, analytics, commissioning, industrial telecom, electrical, mechanical and process engineering. Its commitment to honesty and integrity align with Unanet’s core values and collaborative team approach. Additionally, because Unanet A/E’s technology will offer more real-time data updates, project management and insight, True North can offer even more transparency to its clients. “We frequently hear about companies running their large-scale businesses with tools that simply can’t keep up with their rate of growth. When it becomes time to make the digital transition to more sophisticated business management, our trusted team takes the time to explain and educate businesses about how ERP systems can benefit them, and builds a solution that works for them and integrates easily, rather than forcing them to adapt their company to the system,” said Matt Pantana, SVP of Product for Unanet A/E. “Purpose-built technology and a knowledgeable, trustworthy team: Those are both part of the promise we make to our customers.” True North has begun implementing Unanet A/E and plans to roll it out to its employees in Denver and Calgary by mid 2021. About Unanet Unanet is a leading provider of project-based ERP and CRM solutions purpose-built for Government Contractors, AEC, and Professional Services. Alaska-based HDL Engineering Selects Unanet A/E to Help Company Manage Growth, Finances and Projects

by Lucas HaydenPress Releases, Unanet A/E News, Unanet News

May 11, 2021

DULLES, Va., May 11, 2021 – Unanet, the leading SaaS project-based Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) provider, today announced HDL Engineering Consultants, LLC, a leading Alaska-based engineering firm, has selected Unanet A/E as its project-based ERP solution to better predict project costs, profitability and management needs. HDL Engineering delivers responsible civil, environmental, geotechnical and transportation engineering, along with surveying and mapping, planning, material testing, and construction administration throughout the state. Over the past 20 years, the business has grown to one of the larger engineering firms in Alaska, yet its project management and accounting technology wasn’t keeping pace. Like many successful firms, HDL Engineering started small, with only two employees, so their project management needs were met with merely off-the-shelf software and spreadsheets. Yet, as the firm grew and expanded its service lines and attracted major clients, it needed more powerful whole-company solutions, particularly for accurate budgeting, forecasting and job costing. “Our project teams were operating in silos with spreadsheets. Each had their own budgets, forecasts, and finances, meaning our accounting operations were being heavily relied upon for project reporting and constantly playing catch up with the project managers,” said Jeff Fuglestad, Principal, HDL Engineering. “With Unanet, we’ll have real-time information, one single source of project data, and much better insight into project costs and profitability, which will inform better decisions across our projects and company.” Other critical factors in HDL Engineering’s decision to select Unanet were the ability to have complete control over their data, and Unanet’s modern, flexible solution and robust API. Additionally, Unanet’s user interface was more intuitive and efficient than other ERP options the firm explored. “Like many successful A/E companies, HDL Engineering focused so heavily on delivering on behalf of their clients that their internal processes were suffering,” said Lucas Hayden, Director, Product Marketing for Unanet. “With Unanet, HDL Engineering will have stronger insights, cleaner data, and better processes all around. We’re thrilled to be their new ERP partner.” Unanet is ranked the number one project-based ERP leader by industry analysts, experts and customers such as in G2’s Spring 2021 Reports, which named Unanet among the fastest implementation, highest user adoption, most implementable, easiest setup, best customer support, best relationship, easiest to use, and best usability. About Unanet Unanet is a leading provider of project-based ERP and CRM solutions purpose-built for Government Contractors, AEC, and Professional Services. More than 3,200 project-driven organizations depend on Unanet to turn their information into actionable insights, drive better decision-making, and accelerate business growth. by Kim KosterGovCon, Press Releases, Unanet News

Apr 28, 2021

DULLES, Va., April 28, 2021 – Unanet, the leading SaaS project-based Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) provider, confirmed that Sev1Tech has selected and implemented its project-based ERP solution for its technology business. The Unanet solution replaced competing products due to its superior reporting, ease of implementation, and industry-leading functionalities customized to Sev1Tech’s business needs. Sev1Tech provides IT modernization, cloud, cybersecurity, engineering, training and program support services to U.S. government agencies and major commercial organizations. After a merger, Sev1Tech needed to streamline duplicative accounting, finance, reporting and invoicing solutions, among other functions. Both Sev1Tech and the company it acquired used project-based ERP solutions. Still, it quickly became apparent that Unanet was the superior solution. Sev1Tech chose Unanet as the standardized product throughout the combined company. The implementation was conducted smoothly and rapidly due to Unanet’s outstanding customer service and account management teams that took the time to understand Serv1Tech’s unique circumstances and work with the company directly. After implementing Unanet across the board, Sev1Tech was able to increase proficiencies by adopting new functionality and pursue strategic goals year over year because of the depth and innovation of the solution. Additional improvements included a painless financial audit of the company’s GSA Schedule pricing and sales. A new ability for more than 100 subcontractors and staffers to enter their timekeeping efficiently and streamline invoicing for billers meant that subcontractors are paid much more quickly and regularly. “We had different ERP providers to select from after our merger, but it quickly became clear that Unanet was the best choice,” said Jamie Flynn, Vice President, Finance & Accounting at Sev1Tech. “Unanet’s ability to solve our complex business challenges and its extensive knowledge of the government contractor world have been crucial in our company’s growth and success. We recommend Unanet to any GovCon.” Sev1Tech also relies on the automated analyst function within Unanet, which verifies data 24×7, and the purchasing module, which the accounts payable team uses for the latest information about purchase orders and payments. “Sev1Tech is a rapid-growth company that has demonstrated its value to customers in the government sector,” said Kim Koster, Vice President of Product Marketing for Unanet. “Armed with the right technology, Sev1Tech delivers critical IT solutions for U.S. agencies.” Unanet is rapidly growing in the project-based ERP industry as more and more GovCons reject the status quo and seek modern solutions that work for their dynamic businesses. Consistently, Unanet is ranked the leader by industry analysts, experts and customers such as in G2’s Spring 2021 Reports, which named Unanet among the fastest implementation, highest user adoption, most implementable, easiest setup, best customer support, best relationship, easiest to use, and best usability. “We’re grateful to the terrific team at Sev1Tech for their ongoing partnership,” continued Koster. “We look forward to growing with them and continuing to help them succeed on their ERP journey long-term.” # # # About Unanet Unanet is a leading provider of project-based ERP and CRM solutions purpose-built for Government Contractors, AEC, and Professional Services. Unanet’s Latest ERP Upgrade Enhances Web, Desktop and Mobile Experiences for GovCon and Architecture, Engineering Customers

by Carrie MahonPress Releases, Product Releases, Unanet A/E News, Unanet News

Apr 06, 2021

Innovations developed directly from customer feedback, demonstrating commitment to two-way dialogs. Dulles, VA, April 6, 2021 – Unanet, the leading SaaS project-based Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) provider, today unveiled new features for its industry-leading ERP technology platform purpose-built for government contractors (GovCons), and architecture and engineering (A/E) companies. The enhancements are designed to specifically target the user experience and offer intelligent new functionality to both platforms. Customers get even better tools for real-time data insights, flexibility and the ability to make informed business decisions. Additionally, GovCons can rest assured that their businesses are aligned with the latest compliance requirements. This is the second major release from Unanet on both its GovCon and A/E platforms this year, further underscoring the company’s commitment to innovating and enhancing its software to ensure customers have the latest technology to meet their ever-changing needs. “Unanet is the alternative to stagnant ERP that requires customers to adapt their processes to meet their modules instead of the other way around,” said Assad Jarrahian, chief product officer, Unanet. “We understand our customers needed more intuitive and user-friendly dashboards and reports, especially as they move from outdated systems to more dynamic solutions.” Just last week, Unanet was recognized as a “High Performer” in dozens of categories for its A/E and GovCon solutions in G2’s Spring 2021 Reports, including fastest implementation, highest user adoption, most implementable, easiest setup, best customer support, best relationship, easiest to use, and best usability. The selections were made by end-users, demonstrating the value Unanet’s customers receive and their favorability of the solutions. For GovCons, Unanet’s new release delivers three primary enhancements: Mobile Time & Expense capabilities, Fixed Asset tracking, and Service Contract support. A new Mobile application allows busy GovCon professionals to input time and expense on their own devices anywhere, anytime, making expense input easy. Supervisors will also be able to approve their employees’ timecards and expense reports from their own mobile devices. Unanet’s mobile applications are high-rated and user-friendly, giving customers best-in-class capabilities. Future improvements include data capture directly from scanned receipts, enabling users to create an expense item in under 30 seconds. A new native Fixed Asset tracking and depreciation solution that calculates and records depreciation expenses to the general ledger, tracks asset in-service dates and locations, and records disposals to complete the asset lifecycle. Unanet’s reports and its unique dashboard make the tool more intuitive and user-friendly than any other on the market. The Service Contract Act (SCA) requires GovCons have the ability to comply with the wage determination in their contracts. Offering advanced SCA support, Unanet will now automatically calculate the correct costs for export to their payroll system, including pay in lieu of benefits. Additionally, complete wage determinations history for each contract is available to support Department of Labor audits. For A/E customers, Unanet’s new features were designed specifically in response to customer feedback. The newest advancements, including fee functionalities that allow customers to share the cost of merchant fees with their payers, Project Central enhancements for streamlined insights, and a modern, redesigned desktop experience were implemented based on open communications from Unanet A/E customers. Unanet invites a two-way dialog with its customers to ensure they have the functionality they need to run their businesses. One unique way Unanet is committing to customer engagement is by the launch of an upgraded customer suggestions portal, enabling faster feedback loops to development teams to meet the needs of the customer community more quickly. Customers will benefit from real-time status updates on their suggestions and new unlimited customer voting. All these upgrades position Unanet A/E as the most customer-focused ERP provider in the industry. “As we continue to focus on new solutions and enhancements, we listen to customer feedback and innovate on new features directly aligned with their requests,” continued Jarrahian. “With these additional capabilities, customers get the benefit of a trusted partner who listens, understands and delivers on their ever-growing needs.” To learn more about the Unanet new release for GovCon customers, please visit this link. Additionally, the organization will leverage Unanet’s contract management, finance and inventory functions, among others. Additionally, a critical component of Melwood’s decision to work with Unanet was the software’s ability to integrate with the nonprofit’s timekeeping software through Unanet Connect, the industry’s first and only open ERP integration platform. Melwood employees frequently rely on punch clocks for timekeeping, rather than complex web or mobile applications, and by integrating Unanet with Melwood’s existing timekeeping functions, Melwood can easily maintain its existing procedures while more efficiently managing the outcomes. Another reason Melwood chose Unanet is for its attentive and professional service team, which took the time to truly understand Melwood’s needs and tailor a solution that worked for their unique and specific operations. According to Greg Arteen, Melwood’s Vice President of the Information Systems Group, “With so many of our team members working on the front lines in the fight against COVID-19, it was important to us that we streamline our processes without disrupting the normal course of business in order to help our employees stay focused on what matters – keeping our federal workforce safe by providing them clean and sanitized workspaces so they continue doing the work of the nation.” “Melwood’s mission is extraordinary and it’s gratifying that Unanet’s ERP solution was chosen to help further their important work,” said Craig Halliday, CEO, Unanet. “We are the alternative to the status quo in ERP technology, and to impersonal service. For us, it’s rewarding beyond measure to have such an esteemed and important organization select Unanet as its ERP partner.” About Unanet Unanet is a leading provider of ERP and CRM solutions purpose-built for Government Contractors, AEC, and Professional Services. The new capabilities further solidify Unanet’s position at the forefront of ERP functionality and ease-of-use. The fresh upgrades to both the GovCon and A/E versions of Unanet software provide customers with an unprecedented level of visibility, along with best-in-class analytics, and real-time project management tools, coupled with what already is widely recognized as the strongest customer service and support in the business. These upgrades are engineered directly from customer feedback, quickly delivering the features and functionality that customers need. The latest in a series of important enhancements, the upgrades announced today underscore Unanet’s ongoing commitment to arm customers with tools to run their businesses more efficiently. The newly announced capabilities follow the recent launch of Unanet Connect, the ERP industry’s first and only open integration marketplace and platform that goes beyond APIs, offering more than 100 prebuilt connectors to seamlessly integrate with systems such as Paylocity, ADP, BambooHR, HubSpot and Oracle. Also recently, Unanet launched the industry’s most in-depth integrated analytics features, with advanced dashboards and even more real-time reporting capabilities. “Unanet is continually investing in its ERP to ensure it has the latest cutting-edge technology because that’s what our customers need to stay nimble and competitive in this complex economy,” said Assad Jarrahian, chief product officer, Unanet. “Unanet ERP is rapidly displacing the siloed, outdated tools many companies struggle with. These new releases further solidify our position as the ERP provider of choice.” For GovCons, Unanet’s new release offers four primary enhancements: Contract Management, Project Central Dashboard, Unanet Mobile, and Inventory Management. The enhanced Contract Management capabilities enable users to record, track and reconcile a contract’s value and funding by modification, aggregate contracts by customer and project type, and more. Users can associate a contract with as many projects as needed to account for CLINs, SLINs and Task or delivery orders. Changes are automatically reflected in an automatic audit trail, and reports reflect the latest contract details, information and modifications. The new Project Central Dashboard is an interactive dashboard in Analytics Studio that provides real-time, integrated project and financial insights. More than 45 different project-based metrics related to revenue, revenue backlog, revenue variance, profitability and many more are presented in graphs and tabular formats, providing detailed, personalized project views for project managers. Unanet Mobile is a new native application that allows users to input time and comments, set push notifications, request leave, and do it all directly from the mobile device of their choice. The simplicity, along with secure authentication, encourages consistent time input by employees on the go. Powered by Stripe, Unanet Pay is newly available for GovCons and will provide a significant increase in invoicing and payment flexibility resulting in increased efficiencies and improved cash flow.  Inventory Management has features that allow project managers and accountants to view and report on inventory associated with their projects.  While inventory is managed through best-in-class inventory solutions, the integration creates inventory transactions associated to the project and journal entry transactions documenting the inventory flow from acquisition to use. The new features give GovCons even more control over their data, so they have a single, consistent and reliable source of truth for all business information, with the ability to readily access invaluable real-time insight to accelerate projects, meet deadlines, and run their projects and their business profitably. For A/E customers, Unanet’s new features provide a more seamless deployment experience for project managers, accounting teams in both AP and AR, and all desktop users. Highlighting the latest release is a new web experience for Project Managers, enhancements to Unanet Pay, and updates to project planning and purchasing functionalities. Project Central for Web provides detailed project views anytime, anywhere with key metrics across all projects in one, single real-time source. Firms can customize the metrics to create personalized project views, search and export information, and monitor project performance dashboards with KPIs at the project and phase level. Unanet Pay, previously known as invoice delivery and payment facilitation, is an upgraded function powered by Stripe that streamlines invoicing, tracks customer engagement, and increases cash flow. Customers can copy/paste payment links for easier collections, flexibly email invoices, engage their customers with a seamless invoicing experience and collect payments via ACH and credit card more efficiently than ever before. New Enhanced Project Planning functions provide key updates to Unanet A/E’s full suite of enterprise tools for scheduling, budgeting and managing projects featuring enhancements for multiple rate analyses, and ETC and Percent Complete History automation for easier earned value management. Purchasing is also simplified with flexible configuration and approvals, support for process automations, and easy-to-use management. “Each function released today is specifically designed to resolve a pain-point that customers have expressed, while also integrating and simplifying processes,” continued Jarrahian. “We pay specific attention to ensuring our releases seamlessly integrate and improve the user experience, so we continue to offer greater value to our customers. It’s through this careful and purposed approach we can help them gain a business advantage.” Recently, Unanet was recognized as a “High Performer” in dozens of categories for its A/E and GovCon solutions in G2’s Winter 2021 Reports, including fastest implementation, highest user adoption, most implementable, easiest setup, best customer support, best relationship, easiest to use, and best usability. 2020 GAUGE Report Highlights Government Contractors’ 2020 Stressors and Priorities

by Kim KosterPress Releases, Unanet News

Sep 17, 2020

New analysis from Unanet and CohnReznick reveals how the pandemic, new regulations, technology, and other factors are impacting GovCons. Dulles, VA, Aug. 17, 2020 – Unanet, the leading SaaS project-based Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) provider, and CohnReznick LLP, the global advisory, assurance, and tax firm, today released the annual GAUGE Report 2020. Drawing its findings from a survey of more than 1,450 U.S. government contractors (GovCons) of all sizes, types and industries, the fourth annual edition of the report reveals a variety of compelling storylines, best practices and benchmarks from the GovCon world. Unsurprisingly, the GAUGE Report’s standout metrics this year highlight the significant impact the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as new regulatory policies, are having on government contractors. Some key findings from the report: Optimism among respondents dropped from 84% in early 2020 to 68% later in the year after the pandemic hit, while pessimism doubled from 5.5% prior to the pandemic to 11% during the same timeframe. The cost of compliance continues to concern GovCons, with 30% of respondents identifying it as their most pressing concern, double the 15% share that named compliance cost as their top concern just two years ago. This is likely due to Business Systems, CMMC, and FAR compliance now being crucial for successful award wins. “These concerns and sentiments are to be expected given the current economic climate,” said Kim Koster, VP of GovCon Strategy for Unanet and co-author of the GAUGE Report. “However, what stands out is the relative comfort among businesses that have adequately prepared for variables through strong technology investments and operational efficiencies. We see more optimism in companies that feel secure in their ability to be operationally efficient.” Operational efficiency is a stressor for many GovCons, but the industry is moving toward more technology-based solutions to alleviate this pressure. Ways technology is helping include: 59% of respondents reported that at least three-quarters of all their projects were on or under budget, an improvement over prior years. 55% of GovCons report their resource management practice as mature, an increase from previous years. However, a significant number of companies still use spreadsheets and manual process for resource management, leaving room for further improvement. “The takeaways from this year’s GAUGE Report show that technology is helping government contractors weather this regulatory, COVID and economic storm,” said Christine Williamson, Partner, CohnReznick and co-author of the GAUGE. “We’re seeing the positive effects of many GovCons using technology to help run their businesses. However, not all are truly using it to run their businesses better. There is extensive opportunity and upside for GovCons to leverage technology to empower their team, be more productive, and improve competitiveness.” The 2020 GAUGE Report is available for download on the Unanet website. Dulles, VA, July 23, 2020 – Unanet, the leading SaaS project-based Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) provider, today released several new best-in-class features for its award-winning software, which are designed to help government contractors (GovCons) unlock their data for meaningful business insight and significantly improve the efficiency of their operations. The new features are Analytics+, Analytics Studio and Automated Invoice Attachments. Analytics+ is an industry-leading new capability that provides GovCons with an array of dashboard and reporting functionality. The new analysis and reporting capabilities build upon the software’s real-time data visualization features that enable GovCons to aggregate data from multiple sources across finance, accounting, and project management for automatically generated reports, including statements of cash flow. Unanet Analytics+ is a value-laden feature that is included in customers’ cloud subscription. Analytics Studio is a new add-on capability, allowing GovCons that require advanced analytics and custom reporting to further mine their data for real-time insight. Analytics Studio offers customers a deeper level of analysis and drill-down capabilities so they can interact dynamically with their data. Feature-rich, expert-level dashboards, including C-Suite dashboards, are embedded in Analytics Studio, and customers can further customize them for their unique business needs. This advanced feature offers additional functions, including crosstab reports and dynamic auto-filling report templates (Pixel Perfect) reporting. Automated Invoice Attachments allows finance teams to shorten time to cash by automatically generating required or supporting documents for invoices quickly and easily, using several common attachment formats. “Government contractors are facing challenges – from increasing competition to compliance and audits, to cybersecurity,” said Craig Halliday, CEO of Unanet. “From the C-suite to the project management level, finance to operations, our new analytics capabilities allow for better decision-making across virtually every function. Having the ability to report, analyze, and visualize data all in one ERP enhances GovCons’ understanding of their business and gives them the ability to make confident decisions.” “These five years with Unanet have been a great partnership and we look forward to implementing some of their new features that will continue to drive efficiency into our organization including Unanet Purchasing and Analytics,“ said Bob Deegan, Chief Financial Officer, Array Information Technology, a leading IT products and services firm. “We see Unanet as a core enabler supporting our anticipated growth over the next 5 years.” Analytics+ helps teams discover trends for business drivers, including resource allocation, revenue, costs, cash flow, and timing. This powerful tool offers role-based and permission-based reports and dashboards, so team members can easily communicate to their stakeholders with the precise and relevant information they need to do their jobs, including the metrics that matter to them. Unlike competitive products, Analytics+ is integrated into Unanet as a seamless solution with extraordinary value. “In today’s highly fluid, dynamic business world, real-time information is more critical than ever,” continued Halliday. “Our new analytics capabilities, built upon our real-time data insight engine, are a game-changer for GovCons who can’t wait around for next week to make a decision.” Unanet plans to roll out additional capabilities throughout 2020. Clearview and Unanet Combine to Accelerate Development of InFocus

by Lucas HaydenA/E, GovCon, Professional Services, Unanet A/E News, Unanet News

Oct 17, 2019

Unanet, a leading SaaS project-based Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) provider, has acquired Clearview Software to continue and accelerate the development of InFocus as the leading project-ERP software for Architects & Engineers. Why Unanet? This is a strategic decision that included many factors. We have had no shortage of interested investors over the years, and while past opportunities presented to us meant potentially losing our culture and control of the direction of our product, with Unanet we are able to maintain our focus with additional resources. Additionally, what separated Unanet from the rest was our similarity in our culture and goals. Both we and Unanet have been bootstrapped, founder-owned and operated companies, and we are walking through this door together as we look to maximize our potential. Will InFocus continue to be supported and developed? Absolutely. We’re very excited about the opportunity to put more energy and effort into further developing InFocus. It was one of the major factors in choosing Unanet. We also just released a major InFocus update to all of our customers who received new features at no additional cost. We have more releases already scheduled for next year and are continuing our commitment to product development and support. Will Clearview be shifting its focus away from A/E? Absolutely not. We were looking for a partner that would help us serve more of the A/E market. By combining our resources with Unanet, we will be able to compete with legacy vendors in our market more effectively. There’s a lot of work to do here, and we’re very excited about that. What if I just bought InFocus? You made the right decision and your investment just appreciated in value. We strongly believe that our partnership with Unanet will drive InFocus forward in ways that would have been more difficult otherwise. Who do I contact for support now that Clearview is part of Unanet? Is my account manager changing? Nothing has changed on that front, and all Clearview staff members remain in place. Our current and future customers will continue to reach us at all of our previous contact methods and you will have all the same contact personnel as before. We are dedicated to continuing our excellence in customer service and have increased our support and sales staff in the recent weeks to support our planned growth. What does the future look like for Clearview? The future is bright! Clearview will now have access to more resources to develop and support our software than ever before. We plan to continue adding staff, features and support tools to help our customers run their firms on the best ERP software in the A/E industry.
